The Coastline Collection: Inspiration

I find so much inspiration in the magic of Maine. My cedar and fern charms were made using ferns foraged from my walks in our backyard and around our neighborhood. On hikes looking down and finding fallen little pine cones and spruce tree tips. In the ocean, looking off a dock and seeing the seaweed and the rockweed gently swaying along with the water. Rounding the bend on a particularly sunny day and getting the first glimpse of the ocean - crystal clear and bright blue.

This is where the inspiration for The Coastline Collection comes from - all things I found and was inspired by on the Maine coast. Though, I would like to say that if you're a coastline lover (not just in Maine), I think you'll love this collection.

It started when I was beachcombing along my favorite beach and trying to decide how I could incorporate some of my favorite finds into my jewelry. I found so many little sea snail shells, and had the idea to try to incorporate their funny little round tips into my wax cast jewelry. I could press the indentation into my wax rings, and then you could have a little ocean memento with you wherever you go.

I also knew that I wanted to make a charm necklace, and then found a smaller shell, and a bit of lobster claw washed up and had the idea to make those into sand castings that could be incorporated into a charm necklace. The idea evolved a bit, but eventually included both of those, some shells wrapped in silver, and a few stones that strongly resemble those deep blue waters.

Many more pieces emerged from my mind with a bit of inspiration and walking along the coastline. Some other inspo includes - wild roses, rockweed, the shimmering way that the sun hits the water, and the deep deep blue of the ocean.

The Coastline Collection goes live on 6/22 at 3pm Eastern. 10% of the profits of any pieces sold within the first month will be donated to Friends of Acadia, an organization that protects the land that I love. I hope you're as inspired by this collection as I am! Thanks for supporting Solar Wilds <3
