I adore shopping small for holiday gifts and throughout the year for myself personally, but if you aren't connected into the small business community it can be a bit intimidating finding businesses to shop with (especially for businesses that aren't listed on Etsy!), or at least I felt that way before I got connected with this community. So, I put together a little holiday gift guide with some of my everyday favorites.
All of the small businesses listed here are businesses that I have personally bought from and use or admire all the dang time. I have SO many small businesses that I follow, support, and love, so I decided to keep this list to those that I've bought from myself - though I wish that I could buy from you all!

Experiences
Art Classes - I don’t have a ton of recommendations, but if you’re in Maine, I’d recommend checking out Art Waves for various classes. Check out your local art centers for more specific place-based classes!
Tattoos - of course only gift this if you are positive the recipient will enjoy it! For Philadelphia-area tattoos, I’d highly recommend Jessie M. Tattoo or Jenny Song (both do fantastic fine line work), but there are so many wonderful tattoo artists out there.
Patreon Subscriptions - if you want to give the gift of learning, there’s so many small businesses on Patreon. I personally am subscribed to Miss Rachel's Pantry (vegan recipes), Inti Design Studio (metalsmithing tips), and Mitera Made (wax jewelry tips)

One more note before wrapping up - many small businesses have small restocks or various product release cycles. If you see a website is sold out, sign up for their email list. They likely send out email notifications about restocks so you can be notified.
Thanks for reading, I hope this helps with your holiday shopping!
